This is the only breed we breed, as this is our passion.
We have had Flat Coats since 1990 and been breeding since 1999.
Home of 7 Grand Champions and 30 Australian Champions.
We boast all breeds BEST IN SHOW winner, Gr Ch Flatterhaft Steal Or Borrow (imp swd), 10 BEST IN GROUP WINNERS and 13 Class in show winners.
We only breed when we plan to keep something for ourselves to go on with, not to supply the puppy market, however we only keep the best one or 2 puppies for ourselves and the rest are available to the very best of pet homes or working, very occasionally to a show home.
All dogs are hip/Elbow and eye tested before being bred with, and we proudly say we only breed with any one bitch 1-3 times, they then either become our pets or go to a very special home to just be happy well loved dogs. All of our breeding dogs are proven in the show ring.

We have been involved in flatcoats since 1985 - showing and retrieving. Our dogs are hip/elbow scored and have clear eye certificates. Temperament and soundness are paramount in our breeding program. We are approved breeders of the Flatcoated Retriever Assn of Vic. To increase the gene pool in Australia, we have over the years imported 2 male dogs and a bitch from the UK, and also semen from two dogs.Dogs we have bred have won challenges and Best of Breeds at Royal Shows in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. In December 2008 Jean gained her Licence to become a Judge for the Gundog Group, Group 3 and is also a judge for the Terrier Group 2. Our aim is to produce a healthy happy dog that will give you companionship and love. We expect to have a litter later this year 2018.

We commenced showing and breeding with golden retrievers in 1978 but have owned and shown flatcoats since 1987 after seeing our first flatcoat at a United Retriever Club show in England in 1986 where we fell in love with the breed. Our aim is to produce dual purpose dogs who have the outgoing temperament that flat coated retrievers are known for. We commenced breeding flatcoated retrievers in 2006 and have produced champions in Australia and New Zealand. Our dogs are family first, show dogs second and all enjoy participating in other dog activities.

My first Flat Coat arrived in 1984 and although Tara was not a show dog, she taught me how wonderful the temperament of this breed is.

1993 saw the arrival of Inji into my life and the introduction to the conformation and breeding world. Her first litter produced Tali, my first male. Inji and Tali (hence the kennel name) were a delight to live with and were my first two show champions.

1998 Elly (Ch Kellick Carn Of Cailiche CCD) arrived and was my foundation bitch. Her first litter produced Jy (Ch Injitali In The Black CD).

In 2004 Elly's second litter saw the arrival of Baloo (Gr Ch Injitali Intrigue CCD RN).

Baloo's first litter produced Booker who is Dual Gr Ch (TS) Dual Ch (T) Injitali Sir Bouncealot. Extremely naughty and highly intelligent. Best dog ever when I need a cuddle.

2011 saw the arrival of Baloo's second litter and I kept two pups. Seeker is now Dual Gr Ch (TS) Dual Ch (T) Injitali Intriguing Secret. Tiger is Dual Gr Ch (TS) Dual Ch (T) Intriguing Tale.

2017 Seeker produced Lani (Ch Injitali Treasure Seeker). I call Lani "The Apprentice" as she delights in copying and watching Uncle Booker's clever and naughty antics.

3 Dual Grand Champions was not something I thought I would ever do when I first started with Flat Coats. So proud of them all.

Hawksdale Kennel was establish in 2004 with the purchase of our foundation bitch "BAWTRY PARK MY MELODIE". Melodie sadly passed over to the rainbow bridge earlier this year 4 months off her 14th birthday.

We are a small kennel located at the foothills of the Darling Scarp in Perth WA. Since then we have imported 3 dogs from Norway and Sweden.

Our Newest arrival is Moonstruck Walnut (imp Swe). He was campaigned by his breeders in Sweden and is a Amsterdam Junior World Winner 2014 and also qualified and shown at Crufts 2015 before flying out to Australia! I cannot thank the Moonstruck Kennel enough for sending me this crazy but wonderful dog!

Wally was campaigned in NSW by Gillian Holmes (Blacqlable Kennel) in 2017 to many BOB and In Group wins as well as a BIS at the Canberra Gun Dog Show under breed specialist Mrs Carina Ostman from Sweden.

Our dogs are very much part of the family as well as active show dogs.

Blackregal is a small but select kennel, our aim is to produce sound happy Flat coats that are part of a family.

We thank Judy kennon Wray for our beautifull foundation lines, Grand ch Bushman Burnt to Ashes, Ch Bushman Miss Fire, Ch Bushman Fire Storm CD. (IID), without these good bloodines "Blackregal" would not be today.
In 2013 we imported Phoenix Firebird Of Black Brianta from Prague and in March 16 we imported U Are Too Cute Black Brianta. Danika to increase our bloodlines.
In August 2016 we introduced our new boy from Poweron in S.A. whos sire is from Black Brianta as well giving us our lovely new lines.

Kellick is the oldest Flat Coated Retriever breeding kennel in Australia & New Zealand; we have owned Flat Coated Retrievers since 1975 owning 2 of the foundation stock one from England & the other from New Zealand.


Kellick has had a number of imported dogs over the life of the kennel from New Zealand, England, Scotland and, 3 males from Sweden. Further more recently imported frozen semen from working lines in Finland.
Importation is required to refresh the kennels gene pool and keep it healthy. All breeding stock is health checked suitable for breeding. Puppies available occasionally.

Our dogs are active in the hobby of Retrieving Trialing.
As the breed is a Gun dog and was originally bred for retrieving game when man lived off the land. Here at Kellick we continue to stimulate this instinct in our dogs by competing in Retrieving trials of which is an assimilation of duck shoot using dead pigeons as the game. Our dogs enjoy this hobby as it is in their blueprint to retrieve.

Kiwiline Flat Coated Retrievers is based on a small lifestyle block in South Auckland, New Zealand and was born from the desire to provide families with healthy pets true to the happy go lucky Flat Coated Retriever breed type.

We are incredibly lucky to have been gifted with four lovely dogs bred by Judy Kennon-Wray, Peter Kennon and Jazmyn Wray of Bushman Kennels in Melbourne Victoria as our foundation dogs/ pets/ family members.
I will forever appreciate the time, effort and love that went into producing these dogs and the friendships I received along with them. Judy and Peter Kennon, her father, are forever in my heart.

In nine years of showing we have been awarded multiple Class in Groups, Class in Show, Reserve in Group and Best in Group awards along with Best and Reserve in Specialty and Reserve in Show All Breeds but at the end of the day, our dogs are dogs. They run on our acreage, play in the mud, chase birds and retrieve rabbits.
Their soundness and temperament are as Flat Coat as they can be thanks to their careful breeding.

WE will ONLY ever breed when we believe the time is right for another to join our family and that the mating will improve the breed, not to fill orders. We are more than happy to discuss the breed at any time.

All of our dogs have clear eye certificates and better than average hip and elbow scores for Flat Coats.

I have Shown on and off for over 40 years.
I ventured into Flat Coated Retrievers in 2012 - My dogs are Happy Healthy Beautiful Quality dogs who show all the traits of this lovely breed. A breed that loves to have fun teamed with exceptional looks.

Mine are happy to run themselves silly and if you add water even better - they are not full time lounge dogs. A smart breed that loves to please - so well suited to training - and a must - if you are considering a flat coat.

All Registered Flat Coated Retrievers have to be health tested for breeding - Hip Scored - Elbow Scored - Eye Checks are paramount for any breeding. All my dogs have lower than the breed average scores.

I have brought many new lines into Australia by Importing from other countries with the help of Breeders from Sweden Austria Germany UK NZ and USA such is my passion for the breed to continue in Australia.

We have owned Flatcoated Retrievers since 1982 and bred our first litter in 1985. Our own dogs have successfully competed in obedience, agility and conformation disciplines. Our current breeding stock is based on our imports from kennel Black Brianta in the Czech Republic, with our current stud dogs being "Cappy" (NZ Ch Extraordinary Black Brianta) and our young dog "Legend" (Legendary Black Brianta). Cappy has gained several placings in agility and obedience from very few outings as our main focus is on breed showing where he has gained multiple class in group, best and reserve in group awards. Legend arrived in February 2023 at 10 months of age and promptly won Best on Parade from 50+ entries at Manawatu and then Puppy in Show at both Taranaki Gundog Club and Hawkes Bay Kennel Association champ shows. He has gained several group placings since including Junior of Group at the Prelude Show in Auckland. These young dogs excite us as they are just getting better and better. Our next litter is planned for the end of 2023 from which some puppies may be available. The sire is Legend and dam is Cookie (NZ Ch Fall in Love Black Brianta), also from the Czech Republic. I'm a small kennel situated in beautiful Bellbrae on Surfcoast of Victoria.
My kennel name is KOACÚ pronounced (koa-coo). Koa is Maori for happy, joyful. And CÚ is Scottish Gaelic for dog.
HAPPY JOYFUL DOG is exactly how I would describe the Flat Coated Retriever.

I've had a life long love for Flat Coated Retrievers as my parents have owned them for 40+ years.

I was so grateful to add, CH. ARANGOLD LABOUR OF LOVE (IMP NZL) aka Moo to our family in March 2021.
Thanks to Margaret Hean of Arangold Retrievers NZ.

I have taken courses in Dog Behavioural Training, and Pup and Young Dog development.
I'm passionate about the health and genetics of dogs.

I have a knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities, and the work required raising a litter of pups throughout those crucial early developmental weeks. I plan to use my training to produce the healthiest, happiest, most confident and well-tempered puppies I can.

Moo has passed all her health checks, with a great hip/elbow score, clear eye certificate including Gonioscopy, and a clear EMBARK genetic health check, testing for over 250 genetic markers.

I'm now taking expressions of interests for my planned litter in May.

We were joined by our first Flatcoat in 1988, since then we have never been without a Flatcoated Retriever. Originally from the UK, after 16 years in the South Island we now live in the Waikato. We registered our Trevalley Kennel name in 2004.
Our dogs are integral to our family life, they all live in our home, Flatcoats need to be a part of your life, they love company, they don't enjoy being kennelled or left alone for long periods. They are a very “helpful” breed.
We work and show our dogs, a true dual-purpose breed, our dogs are "fit for life, fit for purpose”. Claire is a conformation judge and is New Zealand’s only Flatcoated Retriever Specialist confirmation judge, she can also award challenges in Toys, Terriers, Gundogs. Hounds and Working. Amyas enjoys taking part in field trials and training the dogs, our grownup children both have a Flatcoat and share a passion for the breed.
Our dogs are from well-respected UK kennels, who produce beautiful, classical lines, we are very proud of the pedigrees behind our dogs and grateful to have some very knowledgeable mentors who have become very close friends.
We breed infrequently, only when we want a puppy ourselves. We put a great deal of time, thought and love into our litters.
Our dogs are proudly fed on Black Hawk and puppies come with a complimentary bag of food & puppy pack
Our dogs are Hip / Elbow / Eye and DNA tested.
