Ch Jarrebor Taras Radiance CDX AD JDX ET HIT
Sorcha was such a special grrrl. She was so much Lindenbrae - her mum, dad's mum and dad's paternal grandma were all Lindenbrae bitches. With her aunt Breanna (Moystonhill Midnite Rose) Sorcha took Lindenbrae into the current era, after a break of some years.
She was my crossover dog, taking to positive training like a duck to water (and who wouldn't!). She completed her Show title at less than two years with 23 and 25 pt Challenges, and gave me so much pleasure in our performance pursuits. She raised twenty puppies from three litters (the ten litter puppy was a bit scary!) producing lovely pups, including Django and Cady. She was a fantastic grandma to Cady's babes often playing with them.
Sorcha was a magnificent partner in my Animal Assisted Therapy work with kids - starring in books and performances, scoring soccer goals against loads of kids, playing fetch, staging agility demos, and bestowing many many cuddles and kisses.
She walked, ran, raced hundreds of miles with me over her 15 years - oh, and swam - she loved water.
I'm really glad that we spent a night at Easter 2011 with Jocelyn Vagg (her breeder). Sorcha was in fine fettle - romping around Joc's lovely yard, initiating play fights with the young grrrls, and just full of joy at seeing Joc (who she totally LOVED - she used to go absolutely crazy when mail came from Joc - fair enough it was sometimes pig's ears, but even if it was just a birthday card.)
Sorcha is an Irish name meaning 'bright shining' or 'beautiful one' - I am so lucky to have had all the brilliance Sorcha gave in her life, and the legacy she has left in her lovely children and grandchildren.
I heard the most apt quote as we travelled our last night. 'The most important lesson we all have to learn is to love and be loved in return.' A perfect tribute to Sorcha's life.
