Judge Profile

My passion for Bull Terriers was kindled in 1973 when we bought our first Bull Terrier – a daughter of Eng. Ch. Brobar Headliner (Imp UK). Since then we have always had a few Bull Terriers around the home.

Over the years, as work and family commitments dictated, I have been showing at Bull Terrier Specialist and All Breeds Shows with In-Show success at both. We have bred numerous Australian Champions and in 1999 at the Australian Bull Terrier Trophy Show, our home bred Ch Missigai Black Id Susan ROM won the Ormandy Bitch Box under USA Breed Specialist Dr Franne Berez. Whilst we are a small kennel and have bred sparingly (particularly whilst our children were growing up), we nonetheless have remained dedicated to and passionate about the breed.

In 1987, my husband and I spending a month travelling around England visiting kennels and attending shows. A highlight was visiting White Waltham and morning tea with Eva Weatherill and Tom Horner! We then travelled to the USA and attended the Montgomery County Kennel Club Show and then our first Sil-verwood at Ventura. In recent years, I have attended numerous USA Silverwood Shows, Montgomery Weekend shows, Westminster in New York and the UK Trophy Shows, Crufts and Bull Terrier Champion-ship Shows.

I have been Secretary of the Australian Capital Territory Bull Terrier Club since 1990. I was Secretary of the National Bull Terrier Council (Australia) from 1994 to 2003 and 2006 to 2017 and I am currently Presi-dent of the National Bull Terrier Council (Australia).

I was awarded my Championship license for Bull Terriers and Bull Terriers (Miniature) on 2 Nov 18. In Australia, I have judged for the Northern Districts Bull Terrier Club Open Show at their 2nd Ironbark Week-end in September 2018 and for Dogs ACT at their Terrier Group Championship Show in April 2019. In New Zealand, I judged the North Island Bull Terrier Club Open Show in August 2019. In the USA, at the 2017 Silverwood Weekend, I judged the Futurity Sweepstakes for the Bull Terrier Club of America and the ‘Egg Head Competition’ for the Miniature Bull Terrier Club of America, and in October 2019, I had the honour of judging Bull Terriers and Bull Terriers (Miniature) at the Montgomery County Kennel Club Show.

I am currently listed on the Bull Terrier Club (UK) Overseas Judges list and the South East Counties Bull Terrier Club (UK) A3 List. I am eligible to award Recognition of Merit (ROM) points in Australia, New Zea-land and the USA.
